Privacy Policy

Bloq is built so that the most sensitive thing about you — what you do on your devices — stays on your devices. This page explains what we collect, why, and what we never touch.

Your app activity stays on your device

Bloq uses Apple's Screen Time technology (Family Controls) to bloq apps and show usage insights. Which apps you use, how long you use them, and which apps you choose to bloq are processed on your device by Apple's frameworks. Apple's design prevents this data from being read or transmitted by us: we never see it, and it is never sent to our servers.

What we do collect

• Account information. When you sign in (for example with Sign in with Apple), we receive your name and email address — or Apple's private relay address if you choose to hide your email. This creates your account with our authentication provider (Firebase Authentication, a Google service).
• Synced settings. Your bloqing sessions, schedules, presets, limits, and bloq screen designs are stored in our database (Google Cloud Firestore) so they sync between your iPhone and Mac.
• Purchase status. Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to know whether your account has an active subscription. We never see your payment details.
• Usage analytics. We collect anonymous usage events (for example, "a session was started") via PostHog to understand which features matter. These events do not include the names of apps or websites you bloq.
• Crash reports. If the app crashes, a crash log with basic device information (model, OS version) is sent to Sentry so we can fix the bug. You can also attach app logs when you report a problem — those logs are only used to debug your report.

What we never do

• We never sell your data.
• We never show ads or share data with advertisers.
• We never see your browsing history, screen time, or the contents of your screen.

Website bloqing

The list of websites you choose to bloq is part of your synced settings. On Mac, bloqing is enforced locally on your computer; your browsing activity is not monitored or transmitted.

Data retention and deletion

Your synced data is kept while your account is active. You can use Clear All Data in the app's settings to remove your synced data, and you can email support@bloq.ac to delete your account entirely. Crash reports and analytics events are retained by our providers for a limited period and then deleted.

Children

Bloq is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Service providers

We rely on a small set of processors to run Bloq: Apple (sign-in and payments), Google Firebase (authentication, database, push notifications), RevenueCat (subscription status), PostHog (analytics), and Sentry (crash reporting). Each receives only the data described above.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the effective date above.
